Mechanical Chief Estimator – Bellingham, WA
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Chief Estimator to join our growing team in Bellingham, WA. This is a hands-on leadership role focused on pre-construction, estimating, and project planning for commercial and light industrial mechanical projects.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the estimating process for large-scale HVAC, piping, and plumbing projects from concept through bid.
Review project plans, specifications, and scope to prepare accurate, competitive estimates.
Collaborate with project management, operations, and sales teams to ensure alignment on budgets, schedules, and constructability.
Mentor and develop estimating staff, fostering a culture of accuracy, efficiency, and accountability.
Support pre-construction planning and assist in bid strategy for key projects.
Qualifications
10+ years of experience in mechanical construction estimating or pre-construction leadership.
Proven experience with HVAC, piping, and plumbing systems on commercial or light industrial projects.
Strong understanding of design-build, design-assist, and traditional delivery methods.
Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Proficient in estimating software, takeoff tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
