**Role Overview**
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Freight Broker Agent to join our team in a remote, independent capacity. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced logistics environment, manages their own book of business, and is hungry to grow with the support of a carrier sales team that’s got your back.
**Key Responsibilities**
Freight Coordination: Match shippers with appropriate carriers across dry van, reefer, flatbed, and specialty lanes
Client Success: Deliver exceptional service, resolve issues promptly, and build long-term client relationships
Dispatching: Oversee shipment execution from pickup to delivery, ensuring on-time performance
Account Management: Own your accounts with care, insight, and attention to service excellence
New Business Development: Prospect and engage new shippers, building your personal revenue pipeline
Team Collaboration: Partner with our in-house carrier sales reps to ensure smooth, supported operations
Issue Resolution: Troubleshoot freight challenges in real-time with urgency and accuracy
Tracking & Reporting: Maintain organized load records and communicate updates to leadership as needed
**Minimum Qualifications**
1+ years of experience in freight brokerage or 3PL logistics
Strong understanding of U.S. freight markets and carrier negotiation
Proficiency with TMS platforms and load boards (e.g., DAT, Truckstop)Excellent communication and client-facing skills
Self-motivated and organized, with the ability to work independently
**Preferred Qualifications**
2+ years of experience in a freight agent or commission-based logistics role
An active book of business with existing shipper relationships
Experience in cold prospecting and B2B freight sales
Familiarity with dry van, reefer, and flatbed modes
Prior remote work experience or proven success in independent roles
Knowledge of FMCSA compliance and industry regulations
