MGR EMBEDDED FIRMWARE ENGINEER Posting Start Date: 9/23/25 Job Description: **Job Overview** As the Manager II of Product Development Engineering (Embedded Firmware) at TE Connectivity, you will lead a high-performing team of engineers focused on the design, development, validation, and release of embedded firmware for advanced connectivity solutions. You will be responsible for driving technical excellence in embedded C programming, microcontroller architecture, and firmware development processes, while ensuring adherence to Agile methodologies and disciplined release planning. This role requires a proven leader with strong technical expertise and the ability to foster collaboration across cross-functional teams including electrical, mechanical, manufacturing, and operations. You will ensure product development aligns with business objectives, customer requirements, and industry-leading quality standards. **Job Requirements** Lead and mentor a team of embedded firmware engineers through all phases of product development, from concept to production release. Serve as the subject matter expert in embedded C programming, microcontroller architectures, and firmware development best practices. Define and execute firmware release planning, ensuring high-quality, timely, and traceable releases across multiple product lines. Champion Agile development methodologies, driving efficiency, adaptability, and continuous improvement within the team. Establish design and performance requirements for embedded firmware, ensuring alignment with system and customer needs. Oversee code development, integration, testing, and validation for complex embedded systems. Conduct design reviews and make data-driven decisions regarding product functionality and performance improvements. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth integration of firmware with hardware platforms. Drive compliance with TE Connectivity's quality, safety, and regulatory standards. Report on program status, risks, and opportunities to senior leadership. **What your background should look like** Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field; Master's degree preferred. 10+ years of embedded firmware engineering experience, including hands-on design and development. Demonstrated expertise in embedded C programming, real-time microcontroller architectures, and low-level drivers (I²C, SPI, ADC, DAC, etc.). Proven success in firmware release planning, version control (e.g., Git), and configuration management. Experience leading teams using Agile/Scrum methodologies, with strong emphasis on iterative development and continuous delivery. Solid background in firmware validation, testing, and debugging methodologies. Strong analytical capabilities to interpret test/lab data and implement corrective actions. Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead across global, cross-functional teams. Highly motivated, proactive, and adaptable leader with a track record of delivering complex embedded solutions on time.
