Job Title: PACU Registered Nurse (RN)
Location: Morristown, NJ
Rate: $56 $58/hour (W-2)
Shift: Night Shift | 7:00 PM 7:00 AM | 12-hour shifts | 36 hours/week
Employment Type: Travel Contract

Duration: 3 months

Position Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Registered Nurse to join our team in Morristown, NJ. In this role, you will deliver exceptional, patient-centered care to individuals recovering from anesthesia following surgical procedures. The ideal candidate possesses strong clinical judgment, adaptability in high-acuity environments, and a commitment to safety and excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

Patient Assessment & Monitoring:

• Conduct thorough assessments of post-operative patients across all age groups (pediatric to geriatric).

• Monitor vital signs, airway status, level of consciousness, and pain control continuously.

Clinical Care Delivery:

• Provide critical post-anesthesia care, including airway management, hemodynamic monitoring, and pain intervention.

• Respond swiftly and appropriately to emergencies and changes in patient condition.

Patient & Family Support:

• Communicate clearly and compassionately with patients and their families.

• Educate patients on post-operative care, expectations, and discharge instructions.

Documentation & Compliance:

• Document assessments, care plans, interventions, and outcomes accurately and in a timely manner.

• Comply with HIPAA, patient safety protocols, and regulatory standards.

Team Collaboration:

• Work collaboratively with the surgical and recovery teams to ensure seamless patient care.

• Support unit operations and assist colleagues as needed.

Pre-Admission Testing (PAT) Support (if applicable):

• Review and verify pre-operative testing for completeness and appropriateness.

• Address missing or questionable test results proactively.

Professional Development:

• Remain engaged in continuing education and skill enhancement.

• Contribute to performance improvement initiatives and evidence-based practice in the PACU.

Qualifications:

• Licensure: Active RN license in New Jersey or compact state - Required

• Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in PACU or Critical Care - Required

• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS - Required ; CCRN or CPAN - Preferred

• Education: Associate degree in Nursing - Required ; BSN - Preferred
