The Registered Nurse in the Operating Room provides skilled nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures. This role requires strong scrub and circulating skills, experience in various surgical specialties, and the ability to float within scope to meet facility needs. The RN will work collaboratively with the surgical team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:
- Provide skilled nursing care to patients in the operating room.
- Function as both a scrub and circulating nurse.
- Assist with a variety of surgical procedures including Ortho, Ortho Trauma, Vascular, Urology, and General Surgery.
- Perform patient assessments and implement appropriate interventions.
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals.
- Document patient care accurately and completely in Cerner.
- Float within scope to other units as needed to meet facility requirements.
- Respond to emergency situations as needed.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment in the operating room.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- Active Registered Nurse license.
- BLS certification.
- Minimum of 2 years of recent acute care experience in the Operating Room.
- Level 1 Trauma experience.
- Strong scrub and circulating skills.
- Experience in Ortho, Ortho Trauma, Vascular, Urology, and General Surgery.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- Experience in Neurosurgery (crani and spine).
- Experience in Open Heart/Thoracic surgery.
- Experience in Ophthalmology, ENT, Bariatric, and Gynecology surgeries.
Special Considerations:
- Mandatory float facility; resources are required to float at the facility's discretion.
- Call requirements: One 12-hour shift per month on a Saturday or Sunday (7A-7P or 7P-7A). No weekday call.
- Every other weekend / 2 weekends per month.
- Maximum of 5 days RTO with no more than 2 consecutive days.
- No holiday RTO, or the day prior or after a holiday.
- No RTO on weekends.
Scheduling:
- 5x8 hour shifts, 2:30 PM - 11:00 PM.
- No block scheduling.
