Steamboat Springs is a Colorado mountain town that is home to a world class ski resort known around the globe for its champagne powder snow.

Steamboat Springs Transit is looking to fill seasonal bus driver positions with reliable safe drivers.

The qualified individual:
Our paid training class will begin on October 26, 2022. The 4 week – 160-hour training class is designed to help anyone obtain their Colorado CDL Class B driver’s license. We will pay you $18.84an hour to attend the CDL class. Once you successfully obtain your CDL and pass the training class, you can begin as a full-time bus driver starting at $21.34per hour.

Already full licensed? We will offer you the change to test out of training and earn $21.3 an hour from the start.

Steamboat Springs Transit offers an early sign-on bonus of $350 for trainees who complete all paperwork for employment by October 1, 2021. An end of the ski season bonus of that is based off the number of hours you work through out the whole season. Finally, an extra $1.00 an hour is offered to all shifts that run significantly past midnight.

The typical working week is 37-39 hours made up of 4- & 5-day work weeks. The newer bus drivers usually work weekends & nights. Winter bus service is from 5:00am to 3:00am daily.

Our bus drivers are responsible for safely operating a public transportation bus and transporting passengers on a prescribed route, on time and in accordance with local, state, and federal standards. Our drivers must practice safe defensive driving techniques, be knowledgeable of the area, provide guests with schedule/route information, assist disabled guests on and off the bus, and complete reports of all accidents, damage, or incidents. Our bus drivers will also be assigned to bus wash duties as part of their normal working shift.

We are seeking the following qualifications

  • An acceptable driving record, with no alcohol or drug related convictions in the last 7 years.
  • A current valid driver’s license.
  • A clean background check.
  • The ability to pass all DOT CDL requirements including medical screening, random drug testing, and licensing requirements.
